Set in a post-apocalyptic world where an alien pandemic has reduced humanity to a handful of clones, 1000xRESIST puts you in the role of Watcher \u2014 one of several “Sisters” living under the rule of a centuries-old goddess called ALLMOTHER. Through a mechanic called Communion, you dive into memories spanning a thousand years of buried history, piecing together a reality that has been deliberately hidden.<\/p>\n

What elevates it beyond the sci-fi premise is what those memories are actually about. Developed by a four-person Vancouver studio whose roots span theatre, dance, and performance art, the game draws directly from the lived experience of the Chinese diaspora \u2014 the weight of intergenerational displacement, the grief tied to the 2019\u20132020 Hong Kong protests, and what it means to belong to a community shaped by migration and loss. For players in Singapore, where those stories run through many families, 1000xRESIST lands with unusual specificity.<\/p>\n

Critical response to the original 2024 release was extraordinary.
