Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is spending its final months telling the story it always promised \u2014 and Chapter 12, “Battle for the Planet,” is the penultimate piece. What Happens in Chapter 12 \u2014 Battle for the Planet<\/h2>\n

Square Enix is keeping exact plot details close to the chest, but the chapter’s name and premise come straight from the original FFVII’s endgame. Cloud’s group re-encounters Bugenhagen, the eccentric sage of Cosmo Canyon, who imparts the truth about Holy \u2014 the White Materia that Aerith spent the entire game protecting \u2014 while Shinra moves to deploy its Mako ray in a last-ditch attempt to stop Meteor without relying on Holy at all.<\/p>\n

For anyone who played the original PlayStation game, these are among the most emotionally charged scenes in JRPG history. Ever Crisis has been retelling the full FFVII story in its signature clean-lined art style, and the Before Crisis chapters running alongside it \u2014 tracking the Turks’ backstory \u2014 have filled in lore that long-time fans have wanted for decades.
