The 61-page one-shot published today in Japan in Weekly Shonen Jump<\/em> combined Issue #37\/38, and is simultaneously live on MANGA Plus by Shueisha<\/a> \u2014 free, no subscription needed, and fully accessible in Singapore without a VPN. A Smile That Hides Something Sinister<\/h2>\n

Horikoshi describes Quit Laughing Shijima<\/em> as a “boy-meets-girl horror” story. A boy arrives in a small town where everyone seemingly adores a laughing girl named Shijima \u2014 but beneath that smile something is deeply wrong. The cover art, showing Shijima looming giant over a coastal cityscape while grinning and holding a chain, makes no effort to hide the unsettling premise. The one-shot includes a centre colour spread that gives Horikoshi space to flex the visual craft that MHA fans know well.<\/p>\n

His First Shonen Jump Work Since My Hero Academia<\/h2>\n

This is the first thing Horikoshi has published in Weekly Shonen Jump<\/em> since My Hero Academia<\/em> concluded in August 2024, after a 10-year run that amassed more than 100 million copies in circulation worldwide. The franchise still lives on \u2014 I Am a Hero Too<\/em> is streaming on Crunchyroll, and the games and merchandise keep coming \u2014 but this one-shot marks Horikoshi stepping back into new territory as a storyteller rather than just continuing an existing brand.<\/p>\n
