The annual 31 Pok\u00e9 Summer Campaign<\/strong> (31\u30dd\u30b1\u590f\uff01\u30ad\u30e3\u30f3\u30da\u30fc\u30f3) is now live at Baskin-Robbins Japan<\/a> \u2014 and this year’s lineup celebrates three decades since Pok\u00e9mon Red and Green first launched in 1996. For Singapore fans making the Japan trip this August school holidays, this one is a worthy side-quest.<\/p>\n

What Is the 31 Pok\u00e9 Summer Campaign?<\/h2>\n

Running throughout August 1\u201331, 2026 at B-R \u30b5\u30fc\u30c6\u30a3\u30ef\u30f3 locations nationwide in Japan, the 31 Pok\u00e9 Summer Campaign is an annual collaboration between Baskin-Robbins Japan and The Pok\u00e9mon Company. Each year it draws long queues, and the 2026 edition makes it the biggest yet: the 30th anniversary of Pok\u00e9mon Red and Green means Kanto’s original starter Pok\u00e9mon \u2014 Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle \u2014 take centre stage, joined by Pikachu, Eevee, Ditto, Slowpoke, and starter Pok\u00e9mon from all nine main-series regions.<\/p>\n

The Signature New Flavour: Pikachu’s Volt Tackle<\/h2>\n

The star of the 2026 lineup is Pikachu’s Volt Tackle Pine Squash<\/strong> (\u30d4\u30ab\u30c1\u30e5\u30a6\u306e\u3067\u3093\u304d\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30af\uff01\u30d1\u30a4\u30f3\u30b9\u30ab\u30c3\u30b7\u30e5), priced at \u00a5420 per scoop<\/strong>. It’s a pineapple-and-cider sorbet laced with popping candy \u2014 31% more than Baskin-Robbins Japan’s own popular Popping Shower flavour \u2014 so it fizzes and crackles on your tongue like a miniature Electric-type attack. It’s one of those flavours that sounds gimmicky on paper but reportedly delivers.<\/p>\n

Joining it is the Ditto Crush Soda<\/strong> (\u30e1\u30bf\u30e2\u30f3\u30af\u30e9\u30c3\u30b7\u30e5\u30bd\u30fc\u30c0) at \u00a5760<\/strong>: grape and pineapple soda poured over crushed ice with a Ditto stirrer stick and grape gelatin. Mix the red and blue layers until they bleed into purple, and you’ve got a drink that transforms in real time \u2014 just like its namesake. A scoop of your choice flavour can be added on top.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9 Ball Sundae, Double Cups, and All Nine Regions<\/h2>\n

The most coveted item this year is the Pok\u00e9 Ball Sundae<\/strong> (\u30e2\u30f3\u30b9\u30bf\u30fc\u30dc\u30fc\u30eb\u30b5\u30f3\u30c7\u30fc) at \u00a5820<\/strong>. It’s a scoop of any flavour topped with Pikachu-shaped chocolate whipped cream, sprinkles, and served inside a reusable Pok\u00e9 Ball container<\/em> \u2014 the kind you’ll want to keep. The spoon is a random one of three Kanto starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle). Catch: it’s only available through 9 August<\/strong> and is limited to three cups per group, so plan ahead if you’re in Japan early this month.<\/p>\n

The Pok\u00e9mon Double Cup<\/strong> (\u30dd\u30b1\u30e2\u30f3\u30c0\u30d6\u30eb\u30ab\u30c3\u30d7, from \u00a5510<\/strong>) lets you pick two scoops, and the cups are decorated with starter Pok\u00e9mon from all nine main-series regions \u2014 Kanto to Paldea. For group orders, the Summer Special Set<\/strong> (from \u00a53,520<\/strong>) packs nine scoops with stainless steel Pikachu and Eevee spoons; an upgraded version includes nine plastic starter spoons as well.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Ice Cream Cakes for the 30th Anniversary<\/h2>\n

Returning for another summer are the Pok\u00e9mon face-shaped ice cream cakes, available to pre-order. The Pikachu Ice Cream Cake<\/strong> (\u00a53,800) is a spot-on sculpted Pikachu head in yellow fondant and chocolate, filled with Popping Shower and strawberry ice cream. There’s also an Eevee Ice Cream Cake<\/strong> for fans of the Evolution Pok\u00e9mon, filled with caramel ribbon and milk chocolate \u2014 arguably the more sophisticated option of the two.<\/p>\n

Singapore Fans: Plan That Japan Trip<\/h2>\n

The 31 Pok\u00e9 Summer Campaign is Japan-exclusive<\/strong> \u2014 B-R Japan is a separate franchise from Baskin-Robbins outlets here in Singapore, and none of these Pok\u00e9mon products will appear at local stores. However, August is school-holiday season and one of the most popular months for Singapore families to visit Japan. Baskin-Robbins branches are everywhere in Japan’s major cities (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Fukuoka), so picking up a Pok\u00e9 Ball Sundae or a Ditto Crush Soda is an easy Japan trip addition.<\/p>\n

The Pok\u00e9mon Variety Boxes \u2014 available in 4, 6, 8, and 12-scoop configurations in Pok\u00e9mon-branded boxes \u2014 also make decent takeaway gifts if you’re heading back to Singapore after your trip, though ice cream logistics on a flight are naturally your own adventure.<\/p>\n
