ZERO NEO DLC Is Live — Switch and Switch 2 Wait Until 2027

The Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is live right now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Singapore fans on those platforms can jump in immediately — but if you were planning to play on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2, Bandai Namco has quietly shifted the timeline. The Switch version is now pushed to 2027, despite the original 23 July announcement promising a simultaneous all-platforms launch on 30 July.

33 New Fighters and Limit Breaker Journey Are Live on PS5, Xbox and PC

Image courtesy of Bandai Namco Entertainment

As we detailed when the DLC was announced last week, the Super Limit-Breaking NEO pack adds 33 playable characters spanning all four Dragon Ball eras — a wish-list-level line-up that includes Super 17, Zangya, Demon King Piccolo, Bardock (Super Saiyan), Champa, Hell Fighter 17, Vegeta (GT), and Trunks (GT), among others. Four new battle stages arrive alongside them, with three additional stage variations added through a simultaneous free update available to all base-game owners.

The new solo mode, Limit Breaker Journey, is also live today: pick any character, strengthen them through a branching map of battles and events, customise their stat build as they grow, and carry the unique rewards earned there directly into online play — an incentive that gives the mode real stakes beyond offline grind content.

<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/q03Gzk-fdUM" title="DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Fans on those platforms planned accordingly.

The launch-day page on Bandai Namco’s official site now reads differently: the DLC “will be available on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.” Switch players checking the eShop today will find nothing. No specific quarter or window within 2027 has been given, and Bandai Namco has not issued a separate statement explaining the change in plans.

It is an unwelcome surprise for Switch 2 owners in Singapore and the region who invested in the console partly for its growing JRPG and fighting-game library — and who had every reason to expect the DLC this week based on the announcement language.

Free Update Lands Today for All Players on Every Platform

Image courtesy of Bandai Namco Entertainment

The one bright spot for Switch owners: the free update that accompanies the DLC is available on all platforms today, including Switch. It introduces two new combat mechanics that meaningfully change how Sparking! Mode plays. Sparking Boost lets you consume a large amount of Skill Stock during Sparking! Mode for a sharp but temporary attack amplification — potent in the right moment, but it leaves your fighter with a stat penalty once the effect expires. Chain Blast enables you to tag in a reserve ally immediately after landing a hit and continue the assault with a follow-up Blast attack, creating longer combo strings and new team-based synergies.

PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players can download the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC now from their respective stores. Switch and Switch 2 owners, Bandai Namco has not shared any further details beyond “2027” — check official channels for updates when they come.
