It\u2019s official: Free Fire Daybreak<\/em>, the anime adaptation of Garena\u2019s massively popular battle royale, is heading to screens worldwide in Spring 2027<\/strong> \u2014 and the first full key visual is out, showing off hero Kelly alongside her allies Hayato and Moco.<\/p>\n

What is Free Fire Daybreak About?<\/h2>\n

The story is set in New Dawn<\/strong>, a near-future city ruled by the powerful Horizon Corporation<\/strong>. At the centre is Kelly<\/strong>, a 16-year-old who wakes with no memory of her past and becomes entangled in Horizon\u2019s clandestine Project Bloom<\/strong>. The experiment awakens her ability \u2014 Limit Break<\/em> \u2014 described in the official synopsis as \u201can extraordinary ability capable of unlocking anything that has been sealed away.\u201d As fragments of Kelly\u2019s past resurface, she joins Hayato<\/strong> and Moco<\/strong> to uncover the conspiracy threatening New Dawn\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

Hayato and Moco are familiar faces from the Free Fire game roster. Their anime-specific roles beyond being Kelly\u2019s core allies have not yet been detailed.<\/p>\n

The Production Team<\/h2>\n

The anime is a joint production between Garena Online Private Limited<\/strong> \u2014 the Singapore-registered gaming company behind the Free Fire franchise \u2014 and KADOKAWA Corporation<\/strong>, one of Japan\u2019s most prolific anime publishers. KADOKAWA\u2019s overseas arm, KADOKAWA QINGYU, manages production.<\/p>\n

The director is Ken Takahashi<\/strong>, whose previous credits include the dark fantasy adaptation Ragna Crimson<\/em><\/a> (Silver Link, 2023). Series composition is handled by Hotaru Asafuji<\/strong>, with music by K\u014dji Fujimoto<\/strong> (Sus4 Inc.). The animation studio is CANDY BOX<\/strong>, known for Blue Archive The Animation<\/em> and Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin!<\/em>.<\/p>\n

A Singapore-Born IP Gets the Full Anime Treatment<\/h2>\n

Garena Online Private Limited is headquartered in Singapore as part of Sea Limited<\/a>, one of Southeast Asia\u2019s largest technology companies. Free Fire becoming a full-scale anime production with KADOKAWA puts it in rare company \u2014 a Southeast Asian game IP receiving the kind of Japanese animation treatment typically reserved for titles out of Tokyo or Osaka.<\/p>\n

The project was first unveiled in July 2025 with a teaser trailer. The new Spring 2027 confirmation and key visual are the first major update since. A full promotional trailer is scheduled for 1 August 2026 at 11 AM JST<\/strong> on the official Garena Free Fire Global<\/a> YouTube channel.<\/p>\n

A worldwide simulcast is confirmed, including Japan. Specific streaming platforms are yet to be announced \u2014 follow the official anime X account<\/a> for updates.<\/p>\n
