Jason&#8217;s hockey mask and machete are instantly recognisable, and his power set delivers on the horror-icon promise. His core ability is <strong>Phase Walk<\/strong>, a supernatural speed mode (181% movement) that makes him near-impossible to outrun. Layer on <strong>Footprint Tracking<\/strong> to follow Survivors&#8217; trails, a <strong>Jump Scare<\/strong> that reveals anyone within 16 metres, and <strong>Throwing Spikes<\/strong> that can pin Survivors in place \u2014 and you have one of the most aggressive killers in the game&#8217;s history. His exclusive <strong>Hook Spike Kill<\/strong> execution is exactly as gruesome as it sounds. Director <strong>Thordur Palsson<\/strong> (<em>When the Darkness Comes<\/em>) is helming the project, and the screenplay is already complete \u2014 written by Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Palsson has said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kitguru.net\/tech-news\/mustafa-mahmoud\/dead-by-daylight-celebrates-10th-anniversary-with-major-overhaul-scooby-doo-crossover-and-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">his priority is &#8220;capturing the feeling of playing Dead by Daylight \u2014 the dread, the tension, the fear.&#8221;<\/a> Filming is expected to begin in 2027.<\/p>\n<h2>No DBD 2 \u2014 Behaviour Is Going Big on the Original<\/h2>\n<p>Behaviour Interactive explicitly ruled out a sequel: the studio is &#8220;doubling down on evolving its current foundation&#8221; rather than starting fresh. That means a sweeping visual overhaul is coming in 2027 \u2014 upgraded character models, more expressive facial animations, enhanced environments, improved audio, and full voice lines for all original characters. A <strong>dynamic weather system<\/strong> is also in the pipeline. New game modes are confirmed: a <strong>1v1 mode<\/strong> arrives in early 2027, while a Zombie Mode is further out. Official modding support rounds out the 2027 slate.<\/p>\n<h2>Last Words<\/h2>\n<p>Dead by Daylight is free to play on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and mobile \u2014 individual chapters like Jason&#8217;s are purchasable DLC.
